"Had for over 10 years, never had a problem until I actually needed their services. A few things 1. They incorrectly applied the wrong trim of my vehicle to my policy, when I asked them to update it so that the vehicle value reflected the actual VIN/trim of car, it was a lowball offer that was over 10k less than the actual going market value of the car. Took it off and went with another insurer that valued it correctly. 2. After an accident, that State Farm themselves said I was 100% not at fault for, they raised my rates, and when asked why, they could not answer and instead provided a computer generated rate sheet with vague line items like “policy change” and “rate change” that was already reflected on a prior declarations sheet. Even after telling them I want one of my cars off the policy and sending a declaration email, it’s still on my policy and I’ve had to switch agents to get it off. 3. I purchased a new car from a dealer and gave them all my correct insurance information and I was provided a temporary insurance issuance. After 3 weeks, I noticed State Farm never sent a new ID to me or updated my profile. I gave them a call and they had no clue I bought a new car, saying that they had no calls or contact from the dealership. I know for a fact that the dealership would not let me leave the lot without verifying insurance, and with their prior mistakes, I’m inclined to believe State Farm dropped the ball with their internal communications or tasks. They blamed the dealership as expected, and I guess I won’t have any concrete evidence but terrible customer service nonetheless. Avoiding this agency is my recommendation. I never once talked to an actual agent, just representatives who are more paper pushers than anything. As soon as I needed their help it was like pulling teeth. They just want to take your money and send you mail every 6 months. I expect an insurance agency to be able to do simple tasks expected of them for the thousands of dollars I’ve spent over the years. TLDR: Try another insurance company or at least another State Farm local agency. Edit: 1: There was no claim. I noticed the trim of the vehicle was incorrect and I called to correct it. VIN was provided. Rep gave me the new vehicle value - which was still much too low. 2: I was provided a declarations page with my 6 month premium when I added the new vehicle - which had it at 61 a month. Come time for my bill and the total is 89 - 27 and some change more than what I was told I would pay. I asked why but was given the vague answer of “rate change”. I expect to pay the price that I’m given, and not some other higher number that can’t be explained succinctly. 3: The “newly acquired car” policy was not explained to me. If this was in-fact enabled, then wouldn’t your agency be aware of the new car purchase? I have never purchased a car at a dealer in which they don’t notify insurance. Even so, the car was registered to me at the time - which are public records that you have access to. You replied to this review within a few days, but apparently had no clue I purchased a car? The very least your agency can do is call me to confirm or explain. I’m operating under the assumption that an insurance agency can accurately provide me with insurance. Maybe that’s a bit too far fetched these days."

If there was an issue with the initial evaluation of your vehicle, our claim partners certainly could have and should have addressed the issue assuming they were aware. Next, you were never charged with an at fault accident. Anytime there is a change to a policy, it will indicate a rate change. Lastly, I can assure you, we never received a call from your dealer. Fortunately, your State Farm policy has coverage for a 'newly acquired vehicle'. I have to assume that your dealer knew that. You were never without coverage. I apologize if this was not explained to your understanding. Whatever company you ultimately move your auto policy to, keep in mind, it is the responsibility of the policyholder to notify their insurance company of any policy changes. Good luck in the future and thank you for your previous business. "

"I called my State farm Ins agent, Chip Ott on Main Street Chatham, this morning, Friday, for a COI for a rental apt. The call was answered by Donna in the first ring and she asked I provide the rental address and address of party requesting the COI. I responded with the info at 116 Pm and I found her email with the COI at 136pm.
